or

Eq. 2
A_s = 0.7854 [ D - 0.9743 / (1/P) ]²

Basic thread triangle height
H = 0.86602540P

where

D = basic major diameter
D₂ = basic pitch diameter
1/P = number of threads per inch
H = Height of sharp V-Thread Triangle
