Sorry, don't know anything about Finglow, but for what it's worth, I will give my opinion on the softwares I am familiar with. I have worked with both Advanced Pressure Vessel (APV) and Compress. Both are very good programs. I have worked in manufacturing as well as on the engineering side. My personal preference lies with APV, but again, both are excellent tools and both are very well supported. Another I have heard used often and favourably is PV Elite. I've never heard of Finglow.

Thanks chaulklate, May be you can advise on wut working knowledge should I possess while using the design software. -I know that understanding of design data is required -But do I also need to know other factors- like ASME code or are they mentioned in design packages. your advice will be really helpful- thanks and kind regards

This is too broad a topic to actually list what 'knowledge' is required before designing with software. The bottom line is software is NEVER an alternate to knowledge. I never suggest anyone rely on software to design anything that they are already not knowledgeable about. A solid understanding of the ASME code is a must. If not, at the very least, you should be working with an experienced person whe can check and critique your software output and point out to you what each output means and where the result came from. Personally, I'm not a firm believer in learning codes merely by using software and relying on the outputs. The other thing to keep in mind is that the code is a minimum requirement, and depending on your own personal and company standards, additional considerations may want to be taken. You can probably maninpulate any software to give you the desired result but it will more than likely mean the inputs are distorted. The old addage still rings true; garbag in = garbage out.
