Dear Masters,

Any of you can tell me the Rod Diameter Required to produce the External thread of size M22x1.5 in thread rolling process and also let me know the method to calculate the blank dia. For given thread size.

Shaft size for rolling a thread is generally the pitch diameter of that thread. It is advised to start there and make an adjustment on the shaft size to effect real life results.

The pitch diameter for a M22 x 1.5 is between 20.994 and 20.854mm, according to Machinery's Handbook.
