Dear Masters, Any of you can tell me the Rod Diameter Required to produce the External thread of size M22x1.5 in thread rolling process and also let me know the method to calculate the blank dia. For given thread size. Thanks in advance Vijay. |

Shaft size for rolling a thread is generally the pitch diameter of that thread. It is advised to start there and make an adjustment on the shaft size to effect real life results. The pitch diameter for a M22 x 1.5 is between 20.994 and 20.854mm, according to Machinery's Handbook. The worst suggestion of your lifetime may be the catalyst to the grandest idea of the century, never let suggestions go unsaid nor fail to listen to them. |
