does anybody know how to select an engine for vehicle design?? i.e. how to decide abt the horse power of engine?

Horse power depends on the weight and desired speed.. considering grag.

Pure HP is:

mass x ((velosity/234)cubed)

well can u also tell tat how we relate engine HP & TORQUE?? & ALSO how much torque does it reach to a wheel from engine. & also wat factors we have to take for transmission losses?
