Dear all, In cement plant, we have one air line made of 3 mm thick plate and diameter is 350mm. Now we has to install a butterfly valve DN350 in this line. As per valve supplier, we should use the flanges ISO 7005-1, PN10. But the thickness of flane is 28 mm. So is it feasible to weld this flange to pipe of 3mm thick plate. You can weld the flange to the pipe , despite it's thick. Seem to be your air is at low pressure. The main concern about installing a buterfly valve is that it shall be open when tighting the nuts on screw , if not you can not open the valve after ajusting the nuts. Of course you can use a slim flange if you can get it The manufacturer tell you to use such flange as to macht with the rated pressure of the valve
