Does anyone know the appropriate method of calling out a non-standard thread. We use odd sizes and the method of callout seemed wrong to me. Using UNF after a thread such as 3.150-48, 3.150" dia and 48 tpi, that is in no book I can find, can not be right.

Can one of you good folks point me in the right direction?

I believe you can specifiy a UNF or UNC. The thread designation follows some standard relationships between the different thread features. See below-

Maybe you can post , to be made as a UNF thread , or state the thread angle , as in metric is 60° and in Withworth is 55°
Each standar has it's own way to make a thread , even if it is not a commercial thread.
But also there is allways a mode to spec a thread.
