We have in our facility Wartsila SW 18 V 38 series engine running on heavy fuel(HFO) the engines are V18 11350 KW driving alternators for utility suppliers.Our fuel consumption now stands at around 210 gms/kwhr I need to further bring it down we have good charge air coolers,air filtration is good ,turbo chargers are in good condition what further can be done to improve this figure??????????????????????.

We maintain a viscosity of 18cST before injection.

Other considerations:

Make sure everything is maintained properly
Lubed and greased.
Bearings and drives are properly aligned.
Remove any unnecesary loads from the system


Can you lean out the fuel delivery a little? Understand your engines cooling and other issues (valves, etc..) before you go too lean.
