First find out the compressive strength, s and then formula pd/2t=s Then solving for p, p=2ts/d where; t= tube thickness,inches d= diameter, inches s= compressive strength of plastic, lb/in^2

Please note in the above, that p is the differential pressure between the outside and inside of tube. If the outside is atmosheric, then p=14.7-pvac

THANKS FOR THE HELP. I THOUGHT THERE HAD TO BE A COMPRESSIVE FACTOR INVOLVED. IF IT WOULDN'T BE TO MUCH TROUBLE, DO YOU HAPPEN TO HAVE THE NAME OF THE TEXT YOU HAD THIS FORMULA IN? I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO GET SOME BACKGROUND ON THIS. THANKS AGAIN FOR THE HELP!!! GARY
