If you are speaking of metal gears, they are machined of various kinds of gear hob machines. Some are punched out with a tool and die. The worst suggestion of your lifetime may be the catalyst to the grandest idea of the century, never let suggestions go unsaid nor fail to listen to them.

there are many kinds of gears, you will have to give a bit more info than what you have for anyone to be able to help
