I am designing feet that go under an 18,000lb roll mill. I have 8 feet in which each has a top plate and a bottom plate 8" x 8" x 1" sandwiched together. The bottom plate has 16 holes in a grid patter to allow for air flow. I need to know how much air pressure will be required to lift the weight of the roll mill just enough so that I can slide it from side to side. I also need to know what size holes are required to get the right amount of airflow. Please help!! I'm in a bind. Thanks

guess you have air from shop at 100 PSI you will need to have 180 square inch in holes .
As your foot are 8 inch by 8inch by 8 each = 512 squere inch

also each feet will have 16 hole to be 180/8 = 22.5 sqr inch
so each hole will be 1.406 sqr inch or 1.338 inch diameter and this pattern could be done at each feet.

This is pure theory , you have to do some try and error , biuld only one feet and load it with some 2250# load .

How do you will cope with the not flattenes of the floor?

Better think on only 3 feet , with fulcrum articulation.
