A shaft (3" dia.) of pressure at say 2,000 psi, hitting a dia. of 10" dia. Need to find formula to determine psi over that 10" dia.

Any help would be appriciated
Thanks

fastbi;

Could you explain a little more. Your request is so nebulous that there is very little to work with.

If the 3" shaft is producing 2,000 PSI and it is passing that pressure to a cylinder with a piston in it then pressure would be 2,000 PSI on the second piston.

Force or thrust of the second piston would be PSI (2,000) * Area (78.54 Sq.In.)of the second piston or 157,080#.

Force=Area * Pressure. Don't know if this is what you are looking for? Maytag
