I am trying to find standards and codes that define the load cases for highway trucks or construction equipment, particularly for aluminum structures. I appreciate any help.

AASTHO is where you want to look. That's the traffic and highway folks that determine what loads to design for when looking at pavements, bridges, etc. You can do searches for HS20-44 (18 wheeler loading) on the net as well.
