Does the remaining pipe strength calculator program conform to B31.3? I used the calculator to check the remaining pipe strength based on corrosion pitting and need to be sure the calculator meets the intent of ASME B31.3. If not, what code or standard is the calculator based upon? Thanks

I would write my own program for pipe strength based on the standard if it is that important. Then you know for sure and since the possibility of change exists in other person's codes at least you will control it. I only use on-line calculations for ballpark quick calculations. Anything I submit to a governing/regulatory body I do myself. |
