Howdy,

I am designing an elevated track system and boardwalk to move a 5000 pound seaplane over 400 feet of wetland and into a lake.  The seaplane bunk/dolly/trailer is 8 feet long by 6 feet wide.  I am using the rims from a golf cart or snowmobile trailer as the wheels.

I planned to use I-beams as the tracks supported on wooden pilings and, if possible, support the boardwalk of 2 by or 4 by wood material between the tracks on the lower flanges of the I-beams.  Obviously the fewer pilings and the smaller the I-beam the better.

I would like to place the pilings at least 20 feet apart and use 6 inch or less I-beams.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.
