I am a quality Engineer for a manufacturer of washing machine transmissions, at present we are having problems with the brake mechanism causing undesireable "Squeek" noise in agitate. I have verified all dimensions involved and all are within historic limits, my question concerns the steel used to manufacture the brake disc, can different heat lots of material cause undesired function. All the heat lots are within the spec called out (A-40) ASTM-A65396 CS Type B? any ideas?
