URGENT! What is the weight of steel

If someone could please tell me the weight, and or density of steel, I would be very grateful. Or if anyone knows a good site for me to find such a fact, that would be great.

Thanks you very much!

Matt

Mr.Matt,

The density of steel is 7850 kgs / cu.mts.You calculate the volume of steel section by arithmatical volume calculation and multiply with density.

hello Matt !

The weight of steel you can find through density and volume. The density /specific weight of steel C 35 --0.0784 N/cc.

Calculate the volume of the steel component and then multiply it with the density given above. Remember to take care of unit you are following.

Good Morning Matt~
In response to the online portion of your question, check out www.matweb.com. The site has over 29,000 data sheets on metal, plastic, ceramic and composite materials. The data sheets have mechanical, physical and thermal properties with references. I find it is a great resource material data!

  thickness X width X  leghth   inches    ex. 1.* 3.* 12. = 36      36*.2835 = 10.206 lb

1 cubic in of steel = .2835 lb
