Would like to know how to verify a flat pattern for a rectangle to round cone in

sheet metal. I am using Solidworks to model and flatten the part but could use a

formula for laying out cones and (rectangle to round) cones. Any useful info or

reference material would be greatly appreciated.

What material will your round cone be made of and how thick is the stock sheet metal?

Are you starting with a star pattern?

I know that it is common to specify the end item on your drawing and then let the manufacturer figure out how to get there.

The material would be 16 gauge stainless steel. The bottom
rectangle size is 28 inches to a 12 diameter top.
