: I am an Engineering student, finishing studies.
: I am designing a extruder for paste. I am looking for a formula for work, because I have to decide a motor.

: My screw is similar to a Archimedes screw.

: thankz, and excuse my poor English

The motor may be sized on 2 factors: the first is the volume of paste per unit time. The second is the working pressure. Multiplying the two gives the power required to drive the screw.

Then the volume/revolution of the screw can be divided into the volume per unit time to give the motor RPM.
