In response to your question, I must say first off, that I have no experience with SolidWorks. However, I have been a mechanical designer for 20+ years.

You describe the dimension as having 'an oblong box' which I recognize as a 'basic dimension' from ASME Y14.5M and/or ANSI Y14.5M

I believe you wish to 'translate' that 'dimension' as you have a need to build inspect to it. I can not (and will not) explain it as it is extensive and very well documented.

You may be able to find these specs (for sale) at globalspec.com (i may not have the web address totally correct.)

If you 'search' the internet, you may be able to find small tutorials on this system of tolerancing.
