Domenick,
Not being a microwave wise engineer I still think I have
a simple answer worth trying in an experiment. I
think you need to plug the space between the
thread roots with a metalic substance, if I'm right.
So, I would look for a metalic thread sealant or
at least one that is not passive to your frequency
of wave length. Thus blocking the leakage.
... or perhaps I have caused you the think of a
similar route to take. I agree, a better class of thread
fit will help but can make the screws to expensive.
I'd contact some of the thread sealant/glue makers
about a product or a new product for this purpose.
I have found them responsive and always looking for
new examples of ways to sell new sealant/glue products.
.. good luck..
