: In short, the material is emmersed in a solution which prevents or causes certin elements to or not to be allowed to be in contact with it during the HT and cool down. This can also be taken advantage of in controling the cool down cycle, since the product is already emmersed in a solution.

I thought solution heat treat refers to the material going to a solution, ie homogenous grain structure
