have you tried freezing the material in liquid nitrogen first. Wear gloves and I "think" your chips will break up nicely into those happy little 6's.. Be aware that the size will have to be altered to allow for warm up expansion. Put it in the lathe frozen and thread quickly in a special quick operation, I'd use a pot to hold the product. Use set screws or something to clamp the product. You are going to have a mess in the pan and collant tank. So catch the chips or cover the coolant grill with paper. This should speed up you RPM and speed up your operation tremdously,.. paying for the Nitrogen easily.
