A Magnet Question

I have a question that no one I have asked seems to be able to answer. The question: Is it possible to have a hollow sphere with a continuous north pole on the outside and a continuous south pole on the inside? (I've been told that some law of nature would force the sphere to develope axial poles similar to the earth.)

Just curious.
