: using the beam deflection calc. I don't follow what is being ask for as "Distance from Neutral Axis".

: I'm looking to find the deflection of several possible choices of beam shape and size to use
: in a machine I'm designing. I know the Section Modulus and loads... just don't get what to
: plug into the "Distance from Neutral Axis" slot.

: any supported help would be nice.

Normally the Neutral axis is the center of the beam in question. This is the section of the beam where the load changes from tension to compressive load. So. if your using a I-Beam that is 6 inches tall use 3 inches.
