cantilever

hi all, just happened to stumble upon this site while researching the deflection of a cantilever beam etc. im currently doing a project where i have to build a cantilever with unlimited spaghetti pasta and 30 popsicle sticks. it has to be 1m in length and 30 cm of it will be used as the base resting on a desk. are there any design tips that you engineers can provide for a student like me? thanks in advance
