Hi guys,

I am currently designing a small scissor lift for a University project which will be powered by a rack and pinion set up. I am trying to source a small DC motor which will power the pinion and am not sure how to go about it. I have calculated that the max torque required of the motor will be 17.1Nm. I am hoping to employ a motor which is as small as possible.
Most small motors I have been looking at have a very low Torque compared to what I require but I am wondering whether they can be tuned to a lower RPM to provide a much higher torque?
Any help will be greatly appreciated
Thanks, Sam
