Electronic Cooling Fans Review

Electronic cooling fans are used to cool electronic applications, such as computer mother boards, power supplies or other electronic devices. Cooling fans are available in many configurations, however axial and centrifugal flow (also called blowers) fans are the most common used to cool electronic applications.

Electronic cooling fans are used to draw or flow air from the outside of a electronic enclosure into the electronics area, expel heated air from inside of the enclosure, or move air across a heat sink or electronic device to accelerate the removal of heat energy from the device. The use of cooling fans and/or other hardware and technologies to cool electronics is often referred to as active cooling.

The requirement for a fan should be considered early in the design of a electronic or electrical system. This will ensure that design compensates for the extra required space and power required for the fan.
