Finishing and Plating Specifications

Phenolic coatings are used in many application throughout industry. Phenolic materials are a diverse thermoset plastic with minimal thermal expansion, high abrasion and wear resistance, and very low friction characteristics. Phenolic coatings and laminates are used extensively in gear manufacturing applications, thermosets, and molded parts. Phenolic coatings have very good resistance to selected chemicals. Applications thicknesses up to .020 or more with typical thickness ranges in the .004" - .012" range.
