Cartridge Filters Review

Filtration Table of Contents

Cartridge Filters are filter that are designed as a replaceable or installed in cartridge form. The cartridge form allows for easy installation and maintainability of the filter element. Cartridge filters are used in virtually aver possible application in industry. Effectively all filters units can be designed and manufactured as a cartridge.

When specifying and designing a cartridge type filters the following should be considered:

Installation: The typical objective of a cartridge type filter is ease of installation or maintainability. Installation requirements and access should be understood and test by prototype. Installation maintainability considerations include: sufficient access for inspection during use, repairs, or maintenance.

Cost: Costing issues include the purchase cost, maintenance and replacment costs, and operation efficiency(such as electricity).

Odor or Filtration Performance: Filtration devices are designed and specified for particle removal and for the control of gases and odors. Odor and carcinogenic gas-phase pollutants can be challenging to remove.

Noise Control: Noise can be a problem with fluid flow systems utilizing cartridge filters. Insulation, flow consideration and effective noise control should be considered.
