44w
Widely used around here for anything and everything
It seems US steel mills no longer supply 1020 HRS; everyone thinks we should use A36.
I'm designing a machine base weldment, not a bridge! Can anyone out there recommend something a bit less springy than structural iron?

Yes, and we do have A36 available also here so I figured out 44w might be available in the US.
