When designing always keep in mind 2 important factors that makes a good design which are
1. Provide enough structural strength
2. Reduce the cost of the item by removing material but still maintaining the level of strength required

Take into consideration this example. Observe the point, this shows on which point the strength is provided, the first is good as the second in incorrect as shown the length of D is too long and that must definitely be reduced to a certain amount.
