Where can I learn about hinge design?

Hi all,

I'm trying to make a piece of furniture (a table), and the hardware required, while seemingly simple, is custom, and not carried by normal suppliers.

So, I'm looking into what it would take to get this, or something functioning similarly, machined.
This is a personal project, I'm not looking to put this into production. It's a one off item for my own home use. I can't find more technical information than these pictures, dimensions, and the manufacturer name.

If anyone could provide me some guidance into where I might look to understand further about hinge design, it would be greatly appreciated.
