Abaqus Axisymmetric assembly vs revolved assembly

im struggling to find tutorials or information about making axisymmetric models in abaqus. specifically when it comes to assemblies.

im trying to model the situation from the link below (not mine, but all i can find thats similar). but then if a tension is applied to the pipe:

but from my understanding contact pairs etc dont work for axisymmetric models.

So i suppose my question is, would it be easier to model the situation as an actual 3d model rather than 'simplifying' to axisymmetric?

I would think that abaqus organization would provide that resource and training.

    Do they not?
Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.
