Can someone please tell me the formula to calculate how much force is applied to the bottom of a vertical pole or angle if there is a force of 200 pounds being applied to the top? Simply, I want to bury a steel angle in 4 feet of concrete and attach a zip line to the top at 8' above the concrete. I want to know how to calculate the force at the top of the concrete to know if the angle is adequate. If I consider the top of the concrete a fulcrum, do I use a zero and use the 96"? Thanks for any help.
Torque is equal to distance x Force...
