    Young's Modulus and elastomers

    Hello,

I was wondering if Young's modulus is the same as 100% modulus in the rubber world.

Also, can I use the 100% modulus value to calculate the force required to compress a rubber by a certain amount, say 20%.

    Thank in advance.

I believe "100% modulus" is in reference elongation at 100%. Since Young's Modulus is variable - depending on the amount of elongation the modulus maybe given dependent on applied elongation.

For an elastomer material - use whatever the engineering specifications provide for the Young's modulus...
