Hi
I am busy with my final year project in chemical engineering, the design of a small biodiesel production plant. We have a flashdrum, operated at atmospheric pressure, to remove excess methanol from the biodiesel and glycerol (T=423K). The problem is that me and all of my team members have only worked on mineral processing plants during vacations and is not as clued up as we should be on gasses. How will the process control look on this unit? A valve on the gas line, controlling the pressure at one atmosphere, and then? What heat exchanger will be the best option to condense the gas? We want to pump the methanol to a storage tank.
Kind regards
