Hi all, I am the only person in a small plastics plant with any electrical training. There are no prints or schematics for any of the equipment. Production downtime is running between 30% to as much as 75% each quarter. I have been tasked with turning this place around, making it profitable and safe. (Some things I've already done was to install properly sized protective devices on all motor starter circuits, and begin sealing up and repairing deteriorated conduit.)
Things remaining include complete upgrades on all electrical systems. Repairing power factor equipment. Instituting an Arc Flash program. Eliminating all old DC drives in favor of frequency drives (two production lines remain to be done). The most difficult will be getting 3 phase blower motors to last more than 3 to 6 months. While in my spare time drawing up electrical prints for the entire complex.
Any suggestions would be appreciated
