    Solar Panel in PC Enclosure

I am currently working on the design for a remote monitoring device that uses a small solar panel (40mm x 35mm). Somehow this solar panel needs to be embedded in a polycarbonate enclosure, so that the front is unobstructed and a water tight seal is maintained around the edges of the panel. The only idea that has come to mind so far is cutting a slightly large window in the enclosure and using some sort of potting epoxy to fill in around and behind the solar panel. Is this a common manufacturing process or is there some other industry standard way of embedding components in an enclosure? Thanks!

Do you need a custom enclosure? Have you looked at NEMA 4X/IP66 industry standard enclosures?

The enclosure is a standard NEMA 4x enclosure, but it needs this modification to include the solar panel. It is not a custom enclosure only modified.
