Hi there,
I need to make a printer that prints while keeping the paper flat. My initial thought was a stepper motor and a conveyer belt type situation. Any ideas for products or companies that make such products? If I make it myself, do you have any advice for me if I start with an inkjet printer?

It's called a "flatbed plotter," or "flatbed pen plotter". Been around for 30+ years. Internet search will reveal all.
