Weather station mystery

Hello all,
I hope someone can help me with this weather station mystery.
We're doing water balance project in the Dominican Republic and found (island in Enriqillo lake) this weather station there.

How do we check if it works (hopefuly in one visit) as we don't know the manufacture?
Is there a universal device to download data from the datalogger?

Hi,

I assume you were going to attach a picture but I can see nothing. Other than that we have no way of knowing what you are talking about.

I can say though, that it would be highly unlikely that there is a common/generic data protocol for a weather station.

Is it beaming data to a satellite?
Is there an RF link to a base somewhere?

Without more exact details, it is impossible to say what might be happening.
