Found a nice torque convertor on this web site, the conversion I'm interested in reads as ozf - in. When I look up compatiable torque screwdrivers, they're specified as in - oz. Is there a difference or just local nomenclature?
Thanks,
Boyd
Hi Boyd,
If you are asking about the "f" then technically correct, it is ozf as in Ounces of Force as opposed to Avoirdupois Ounces of measure. Colloquially, the "f" is dropped.
Don't get me started on the oz-in and in-oz with or without the "F" though. Another whole can of worms in semantics.
I am an old fart and ft-lbs and in-oz are sacred -- to me. This may develop into the Thread from Hell. LOL
