Does anyone know the correct GD&T callout to relate a slot in one part to a hole in a mating part? (Y14.5M-1994) |

Since they are different parts, you cannot just call the hole a datum feature and relate the slot directly to it. Figure out what aligns the two parts together. Are they flush to a common edge? Are there guide pins/holes that help assemble them? These would be the datums for the respective parts. Then, if you are trying to align the slot and hole for another object that has to clear through both, the position symbol with the MMC modifier would work -- related back to the datums that the two parts have in common. Profile of a surface can also work, but it controls form (and often size) in addition to location. (It too would be tied back to datums.) |
